European Urology

The European Urology Update Series is an educational publication of the European Association of Urology (EAU) and is published in collaboration with the European Urology Supplements. The idea of the Update Series is to provide evidence-based and up-to-date assessments of the relevant knowledge required for the contemporary practice of clinical urology.

The Update Series covers all clinical fields of urology in theme-based issues with relevant topics discussed by invited experts in their respective fields. The intention of this publication is to cover the scope of clinical urology with four annual issues every 3 - 4 years so that the information discussed will remain current and relevant.

The EAU publishes the Update Series in order to provide a reference as well as source of information containing all the clinical urology knowledge required by residents for their training and by those studying for the European Board examination. In addition, it is aimed to be a source of information for all urologists wanting to update their knowledge.

The Update Series is aimed solely at education. For this purpose, all issues contain CME-questions in multiple-choice format for self-assessment which can also be done via a specific website dedicated to the CMEs: http://www.eu-acme.org/europeanurology/

In liaison with the European School of Urology and the European Board of Urology, selected experts in specific topics have been solicited to contribute articles for the European Urology Update Series. This Update Series has been a standard publication for the EAU since 2008.
